FPS Trip Diary - 22 May (2 days to go!)

I have never had so much fun packing my bag. Its not the physical items you pack that give this feeling, but the fact that you and these common items are relocating somewhere other than here. Where that is isn't always important, but in this case I can't help avoid it. So I wont try and stop myself talking about it...

Its funny to think that all the TV shows I watch, and much of the stuff in my house and around me every day is American. But I'm suspecting, and from other people's views, expecting a country quite different to what it can be made out as. I know that despite similarities between many advanced countries America like these countries is unique in its own way, whether my travelling reveals it to be because of business, attitudes or a myriad of other things.

A lot of people have assured me the lollies are amazing, the theme parks are crazy, and the experiences are unforgettable. To be honest its all quite overwhelming, but I'm happy to have a lot of support from everyone, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Thanks for all those who have supported and encouraged me and the team to get to where we are, and soon America.

Enough if that, here are some travel details:

1. 6:00 this Sunday (24th) I will be flying to Auckland, a sort of prologue to the whole flying adventure

2. Then on to L.A.X (12 hours later), half a day later and a little bit of time travelling

3. And finally to Chicago (another 4 hour flight)

4. Three days here relaxing and recuperating

5. Then another flight to East Lansing in Michigan (2 hours)

6. Three days competing (more about this later)

7. And then back to...

8. LA for 3 days

9. Then Auckland and Christchurch again (Its now Friday 5th)

The whole plan may be a little confusing for some but it'll all iron itself out over the next few posts. You may also be wondering why I'm going to Michigan, and I'll try to find some time for a bit of explaining about that as well, but back to packing for me...
